01 · The problem

Where they started.

Mellow March is a café and a sensory play space in one, for little children and the parents who bring them. On a busy day that means tables to seat and bills to close, families booking play sessions, a menu to keep current and a team of cashiers and waiters to coordinate.

A new business like this usually ends up with a till for the café, a booking tool for the play area, a website somewhere else and a spreadsheet for shifts. Mellow March wanted one system from the start.

03 · How we built it

The approach.

  1. Tables and bills

    Waiters open a table, add orders as they come and close the bill at the till. The floor and every open bill are visible at a glance.

  2. Bookings and the play area

    Families book online from the website; the bookings land in the same system that runs the play area, so the team knows who is coming and when.

  3. Menu and website, from the panel

    The menu is managed in the panel and shown on mellowmarch.com, so a change in the café is a change online.

  4. The team, by role

    Cashiers, waiters and managers each see what their job needs, with their shifts and permissions managed in the same place.

With them from day one

Mellow March has worked with us since it was founded. Everything it runs on, from the website to the till, we designed and built, and we keep growing it as the place grows.
